Quality Results

The quality of care at University Comprehensive Stroke Center, a part of UMMC, is continually monitored and reported to the public. Below, our Stroke Center's quality results are reported and compared to "Get With the Guidelines" averages for Mississippi hospitals, academic medical centers (AMCs) and all hospitals.

Outcomes

University Comprehensive Stroke Center outcomes for the period of 2013 Q1 to 2014 Q1, included:

  • 100% of eligible stroke patients received alteplaste, also known as tPA, to break up blood clots that cause strokes.
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center provides advanced surgical treatments to open closed or narrowed vessels not offered at many hospitals across Mississippi.
