Prenatal Classes

Prenatal Classes

The obstetrics program at University Women's Care focuses not just on the health of the expectant mom, but also on comfort and security that comes from knowledge and support. We offer a variety of prenatal, preparation and childbirth classes for parents (and their families) who plan to have their babies delivered at Wiser Hospital for Women & Infants.

Preregistration is required for all classes. To assure class availability, it is recommended that you register for classes no later than the fifth month of your pregnancy. To register or for more information, call (601) 984-BABY or sign up online.

Childbirth classes

Wiser Hospital, a part of University of Mississippi Medical Center, is the only hospital in the state to have certified Lamaze instructors leading our childbirth classes, providing parents with information and guidance for the birthing experience. Each of the scheduled classes builds on the previous class, so we encourage moms-to-be and their support person to attend all classes to get the full benefit.

Classes meet for four consecutive weeks (unless otherwise indicated) at 6 p.m. Tuesdays in room W020 on the ground floor at Wiser Hospital. The classroom is located on the lower floor across from the Wiser bistro. Parking is available in Garage B; bring your parking ticket to class for validation..
